Power League U-18 Seeding Day, January 6 2018
The Hoildays are over and its time to get serious about some Jrs Volleyball in the Pacific Northwest. The Puget Sound Region Volleyball Power League kicks off in less than two weeks with Seeding Day for the U-18 bracket on 6 January. All teams are looking for a good showing, as this will determine there ranking for the rest of the season. Seeding Day kicks off based on the teams rankings from last year, inputs from officials and coaches. The U-18 level is one of the most unpredictable brackets due to girls persuing school, jobs or other interrests and players moving clubs for various reasons to compete in their last club season. It's sure to be a exciting day complete with upsets and teams doing better than expected! Good luck to all the U-18 Teams on 6 Jan, you are all winners to even compete at this level!

PJVBC Winter Classic Tournament
Puyallup
Juinors Winter Classic 2017
The Puyallup Jrs Volleyball Club (PJVBC) had a strong start to
their season this month competeing in their own Winter Classic
Tournament. The tournament took place during December culminating on
17 Dec with the U-18 age bracket. Competition was feirce at the
lower age groups, drawing a large number of entries in those age
brackets. There was a strong showing from many of the PJVBC teams
starting with the the U-12 National team earning them a 2nd
place finish in the Gold bracket, the U-14 National team followed
suit with a 2nd place finish in the Gold bracket as well.
On 16 Dec the U-16 National team brought the heat and finished 2nd
place in the Gold division, bested by Boost Vbc, congrats on your win
Boost Vbc! The U-18 National team showed up on 17 Dec ready, and
proved they have what it takes to compete at the top. The U-18
National PJVBC team this year is made up of girls from from various
promgrams in the region. Although each member brings a high level of
skill and talent, look for this team to continue getting stronger as
they spend more time playing together. The morning pool play started
off with the U-18 PJVBC dominating the first two teams and sweeping
the A pool with no losses. Tournament play started off with U-18
PJVBC defeating their first opponent which landed them up againest
the team from Kracken Vbc. The U-18 Surf team from Kracken Vbc
proved to be a bit too much for the U-18 PJVBC, the girls gave it all
they had but the outstanding defence from Kracken kept Puyallup from
getting the kills needed to advance. The win for U-18 Kracken gave
them top honors for pool A to go up against the winner of pool B,
Ferndale Vbc for the championship. The championship game saw two
evenly matched teams, Kracken with thir outstanding defense and
Ferndale with their smashing offense. Ferndale nudged passed Kracken
in two sets to emerge as the #1 team for the U-18 bracket. Kracken
wound up 2nd and the U-18 National PJVBC came in a
respectable 3rd. Congratulations to all teams that
completed at Winter Classic 2017.
